CAFLON CA-PELA HP is a pelargonic acid, also called nonanoic acid, a nine-carbon fatty acid. Nonanoic acid is a colourless oily liquid with an unpleasant, rancid odour. It is nearly insoluble in water, but very soluble in organic solvents. The esters and salts of pelargonic acid are called pelargonates or nonanoates.
Pelargonic acid is a herbicide used to curb the growth of weeds outdoors and indoors. As a result, it is a common ingredient in many weed-killing sprays on the market.
